Well, I just finished my Godfather binge-watch by watching The Godfather: Part III (1990).
I’ve got to say, considering I’m not a huge gangster film fan I really enjoyed these movies and I finally see what all the fuss is about.
My rank order of the trilogy is as follows:
The Godfather
The Godfather Part III
The Godfather Part II
I really enjoyed Part III.
I liked how Al Pacino’s character had evolved and softened as he’d aged. I totally believed his desperation to put his old life behind him and go straight and I really rooted for him!
I also love how they got most of the original cast back from the previous movies (I like continuity like that). 👌
Andy Garcia was really good in this movie! I actually didn’t realise he was in it. The first thing I ever saw him in was The Untouchables (1987) and he was great in that too.
It feels so good to finally tick these films off the list.
It’ll also be nice to avoid the look of disdain I usually get from people when they ask if I’ve seen The Godfather and I say....”no...” 😳
